More than coffee, it’s a story rediscovered.
I grew up in the coffee mountains of southwest Antioquia, Colombia a country known around the world for its coffee.
My family cultivated it.
As kids, my cousins and I played between coffee sacks while beans were washed and laid under the sun to dry.
The aroma was always there.
I knew the origin, the process, and the effort behind it
but I had never discovered its complexity in the cup.
To me, it was simply tinto.
Everything changed when I moved to the United States.
Far from home, I started seeing coffee differently.
What had always been routine… became something new.
Together with my partner, we bought our first espresso machine.
What felt normal to me was fascination to him.
He measured, tested, adjusted grind size
talking about extraction and crema like he was discovering a new world.
And through that daily ritual, I finally understood something I had never seen growing up:
Coffee was not just a drink.
It was an experience.
A pause.
A moment of connection.
That’s when we decided to bring our two worlds together
my roots in Colombian coffee, and our shared passion discovered abroad.
That’s how ALTIVO was born.
ALTIVO is Colombian tradition seen through a new lens.
It is the field and the city.
It is childhood and discovery.
It is a shared ritual.
When you drink ALTIVO, you’re not just drinking coffee.
You’re tasting where it comes from.
The hands that grew it.
And the moment it all came to life.
